Denys Shmyhal
Prime Minister of Ukraine
Denys Anatoliyovych Shmyhal is a Ukrainian politician and entrepreneur who has been serving as the prime
minister of Ukraine since March 4th 2020.
Prior to his appointment as prime minister, Shmyhal was the governor of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and as
Minister of Regional Development.
He graduated in 1997 from Lviv Polytechnic National University with a degree in mechanical engineering and
earned his PhD in Economics in 2003.
From 1995 to 2009 Denys Shmyhal served in leadership positions at enterprises in Lviv. From 2009 to 2013
he worked in Lviv Regional State Administration.
