Megan Bishop is an Economic Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest, where she covers issues on Romania’s digital economy and telecommunications industries, cybersecurity, intellectual property, civil aviation, and sanctions. Prior to her assignment in Bucharest, Megan worked as a Consular Officer at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, India, where she adjudicated nonimmigrant visas and assisted U.S. citizens in crisis. Megan joined the U.S. Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer in 2017. She is a Thomas Pickering Graduate Fellow in Foreign Affairs and holds a master’s degree in international political economy from the University of Denver and a bachelor’s in anthropology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Megan speaks Spanish, Hindi, and Romanian.
